HIV test as an alternative to
regular testing.
What
is the difference between the quick test and the longer procedure?
When it comes to HIV testing, and knowing the HIV status of
you and your partner (which should be preliminary to any relationship),
the quick test lets you find out your results in 20 minutes
instead of having to wait a whole week.
You simply come into the Clinic, sign
in at “Anonymous Testing”, have your finger pricked
for one drop of blood, and spend twenty minutes with the HIV
counselor, talking about risks and safety while waiting for
your results. After those twenty minutes your results are
ready.
Now, is there a catch? That depends upon
your results and what makes you comfortable. If you are afraid
of testing but decide to get tested and get the results immediately,
then the OraQuick Test is for you. Or, if you will be unable
to return for results in one week, then perhaps you will also
want the quick test.
